Stewardson Firemen Needed

Published by tvonderheide on September 18th, 2012 - in Uncategorized

The Stewardson Fire Protection District is seeking members to volunteer their time, energy, and efforts as volunteer Firemen. The District serves 75 square miles with a population of approximately 1500 residents. There are currently 13 Firefighters on the roster. Over the past month, our Department has lost some of our most active members and we are in need of help. The pay is little, but the rewards are great.

Duties include:

1) Fighting structure, grass, and automobile fires;
2) Responding to vehicle accidents; and
3) Attend monthly business/training meetings (2nd Tuesday of each month).

Volunteers must live within 4 miles of the outer limits of the Stewardson Fire Protection District. If you feel you have the ability to help your community and help reduce the Department’s response time, call the Department at 217-682-5414. Please leave a message with your name and number, and the Fire Chief will return your call.
