Scrap Metal Drive Aims to Rebuild Sidewalks

Once again Joe Vonderheide has started a grass roots movement to generate funds, this time to renovate the sidewalks around town.

From Joe…. “The last day to turn in metal is oct 18, saturday 8am to 2pm. All money raised through the program will go to replacing the old sidewalks in town, ( the most used will be done first). As of right now we have 2800.00 in the account and more metal is still coming in. If you would like to make a cash donation just go to the prarie national bank and tell them you want to donate money in the SIDEWALK SAVINGS account. My goal was to hit $5000.00 for the first season and to have the south of main street done this year. next year i will work on the streets running north and south. Metal items we are accepting is copper, brass, aluminum scrap, alum. cans , steel, iron, old washers, dryers fridges, freezers , air conditioners. NO MICROWAVES, GLASS , TIRES, PAINT, PLASTIC, AND NO FURNITURE ! Anyone can bring stuff up and people from other towns are more than welcome. Help spread the word, if it goes over well we will be doing a walking trial through town also. Thank you.”

Thank YOU for your efforts Joe!
